The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We are on the ground in six continents and over 100 countries, bringing international opportunity to life, every day.
The British Council believes in the power of people to people engagement. We do this by creating strong, mutually beneficial, cultural and educational relationships for the UK with people around the world.
We have been successfully working in Uzbekistan for more than 23 years and our current focus in the country is supporting the new 2017-2021 National Development Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and contributing to the implementation of a range of high impact educational and cultural reform partnership programmes.
Our strategic partnership with government focuses on a wide range of projects in the areas of arts, education and English and examinations.
We work directly with higher educational institutions, skills and culture institutions, academics, cultural leaders, teachers of English, government leaders in education and culture and students – including 70 universities, 1400 vocational colleges, 20 000 students and many more connecting them with the UK to promote international learning for the good of both countries.
